This is Albert, my big brother and my hero. He has always been there for me and protected me and now I want to be there for him and help him in any way I can. He is a 38 year old US veteran who was in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom. We are biological siblings who were lucky enough to be adopted together and I am asking for help for the man who has impacted my life so greatly and the lives of others. He is a previous restaurant manager and business owner who can no longer partake in his passions. He has always been an inspiration and helped my decision to join the Army as well as inspired my love of cooking Albert is a loving father and a great man. He has been suffering with varying health issues and loss of function of his limbs over the past year and was diagnosed wiyh Motor Neuron Disease that has now been linked to ALS. He can no longer work because of this awful, life robbing disease that has an average life expectancy after symptoms begin of 2-5 years. I would like to ask for help for him and his family to ease their burden in this small way during this trying and sad time. His condition is fast progressing and debilitating. He is so strong and it would be a huge help in this time of need to show him that people care. I am his little sister and am organizing this for the best man I have ever known.

Albert is still seeing specialist after specialist. He is handling this as well as he can. he now has 3 affected limbs and only has partial use of one hand. We want to share with people not to take signs of ALS lightly. Albert started having shortness of breath about a year ago with periodic and increasing muscular weakness in his hand that started with simply dropping things. he now has muscular atrophy in his thighs and in the fatty area of his hand between the thumb and forefinger, a nearly definitive indicator of ALS called "split hand:. he also has muscle tremors, pain, and weakness of the 3 limbs aforementioned. Albert is now in need of nearly full time support from his family for several things. He is determined to do as much as he can while he is still able, and he continues to do things with family as much as possible .
