About this fundraiser

My name is Marcia Nineth Lopez, and I’m 52 years old. I’m humbly asking for support as I recover from my second battle with cancer. In July, I underwent a major surgery — a bilateral nephrectomy and cystectomy, which means both of my kidneys and my bladder were removedRecovery has been long and challenging, and I haven’t been able to return to work. The funds raised will help cover basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, and overdue bills, as well as medical supplies I now need for daily life — including ostomy and emergency care bags.I also had to sell my car during this time, and now rely on rides to and from City of Hope in Duarte from my home in Monterey Park. Each trip costs around $50 each way, which is hard to manage with no income.I live with my mother, who has early-onset dementia, and my 25-year-old son, who works full-time as a case manager for the homeless. He’s truly my hero — doing all he can — but as a young social worker just starting out, he can only do so much. Any help, no matter how small, would make an enormous difference. It will help us stay afloat while I recover, adjust to life after surgery, and work toward getting back on my feet.

From the bottom of my heart and my family’s i humbly thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support. 💜
