How can one beautiful young lady go from this to that in a matter of about two years.

From happily married with three thriving children to living in her car, on the street or in a miserable shelter. There are so many issues that led to her current situation; issues that, as a whole, conspired well beyond her control to create this tragic outcome.

This is my DAUGHTER'S STORY. I am her 82 year old Dad who has helped her financially as much as my resources have allowed. Heart surgery five month ago have reduced this ability to help her now. This is why I am hoping that we can raise enough to improve her living situation and hire a lawyer capable of restoring her child custody rights.
The biggest contributing factor to her current situation is that she became a victim of a severe case of Rheumatoid Arthritis. If that wasn’t enough, she contracted Covid and wound up in the hospital. Upon leaving the hospital, she was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease called Pyoderma gangrenosum.

This was when her situation spiraled downward: the combination of all the other diseases and their problems. The wounds got worse and she became septic with 2 blood infections to the point of hallucinating. But instead of being able to take care of it in time, the Ex husband refused to help with the kids and prevented her from going to the hospital. Due to the severity of infection she was then in the hospital more than out… needing constant IV antibiotics.
Consequently, she then developed multiple auto immune diseases from spondylitis, diabetes, POTS, adrenal insufficiency; her hospital records have 42 disease listed. Her bones became so brittle that she had broken several bones in my body. She is currently healing from her 3rd fracture in her spine.
So as you can see, so many details connect and relate to the devastating impact of these diseases for which there is really no cure.. The medications needed to control the pain had many side effects. Steroids made her gain a huge amount weight. Other drugs impacted her mood and her overall physical wellbeing.
Instead of any compassion from the ex husband and her eldest daughter, they found any excuse to diminish her standing. They both went to court and told the judge lies: thatshe was a drug addict, a danger to herself and others. The police came, cuffed her, dragged her to a hospital for a 72-hour hold. They tested her — clean. Not a mark, no drugs. After speaking with the psychiatrist, they had no grounds to keep her, so they sent her home. But by the time she was released, the ex had already shipped the kids to Texas to be with his parents (he couldn’t take care of his own children). He didn’t even tell her.
Even the sale of their nice house gave her a much smaller amount of what she was due as a result of legal maneuvering. I was able to hire her a lawyer just to support her in the mediation proceedings, but could not afford him for the other ongoing legal issues.
The ex husband, who, with his new wife, do now have emergency custody largely due to the impact of her diseases. That was acceptable when, with little immune system, she became victim to serious infections which frequently landed her in the hospital for days of intensive IV antibiotics. This made it very hard for her to see her children who genuinely want to spend time with her.
The reality, at the time, was that she could not care for her children. The Ex now makes it very difficult for her to see her children or even communicate with them via FaceTime.
HER HEALTH IS BEGINNING TO STABILIZE, but her current living situation in a COMMUNITY SHELTER or ON THE STREET is making it impossible to maintain needed any MEDICAL treatments and have critical doctor’s appointments. Her disabled car needs repairs to give her mobility.
She needs to have a safe home so she can regain her health and legal rights to child custody. She needs a lawyer who can restore her abused rights.
MY DAUGHTER desperately needs a helping hand to improve her situation and allow her to be the Mother of her children again. They are everything she has to live for.
ANY HELP WILL MAKE SUCH A DIFFERENCE AND HELP GIVE HER A FUTURE AS A GREAT MOTHER
Thank you so much for your support.
She has applied for SSI disability for which she is well qualified. Even though on an “expedited” approval process it will still take a few months to receive any benefits.
