Mother relied on both her and Dads benefits each month to pay rent and bills. After dads passing, and even through the grieving process, we immediately got all the documents needed to forward to the SSA for possible spousal benefits for Mom. With the shutdown, the earliest appointment is November 20th. Even with the appointment, she may not receive approval immediately, and even if so, the benefits may not be available to her until the next month. We would greatly appreciate any help towards bills and medical appointments, until we get word of approval/notice of any spousal support Mom can possibly receive to help her through this trying and difficult time.
