Hello! My name is Koal, and I am a 15-year-old with autism and several mental health challenges. I’m starting this fundraiser because I need a service dog to help me manage my daily life and improve my mental health.

A service dog will be a lifeline for me. They are specially trained to provide emotional support and help with tasks that can be overwhelming due to my autism and mental health struggles. For example, a service dog can help me when I’m feeling anxious, offer comfort when I’m having a meltdown, and assist with grounding techniques during overwhelming moments. They can also help me feel safer in public spaces, making it easier for me to navigate the world with more confidence and independence.

I’ve spent a lot of time researching service dogs and have found that they can dramatically improve the quality of life for people like me. However, training a service dog is a costly process, and I need financial support to make it a reality. The funds raised will go toward covering the expenses of the dog’s training, certification, and other related costs like veterinary care and equipment.

Having a service dog will help me in many ways:

Emotional support: The dog will be trained to sense when I’m getting overwhelmed and help calm me down.

Safety: The dog can alert others if I’m in distress or if I need help.

Independence: With the help of a service dog, I will be able to take on tasks and activities that are often difficult for me, like going to school or traveling alone.

Improved mental health: Having a companion who can provide support during tough times will help reduce the severity of my mental health challenges.
