Hello, my name is Belinda. I am doing this  page for my Dad. He is a Vietnam Veteran. He has a few health problems. He has had problems with his kidneys shutting down on him. He also has Dementia and Alzheimer's, and he has had prostate cancer in the past that has been treated. Now they have found a spot on his lung. I believe it has come back and his abdominal aortic aneurysm is at 5.1cm. He will have to have surgery again on it when it gets to 5.5cm. I am reaching out for help because I don't know what else to do. The doctors keep telling me my dad needs 24-hour care, but they keep sending him home because the VA won't pay for long-term care for him and neither will his insurance. My dad, of course, like everyone else, wants to stay in his own home. His home is in Arkansas and mine is in Oklahoma. So I unfortunately can't move to Arkansas and my dad is being hard-headed about moving here with me. I don't have POA yet because I have to go in front of a judge. With doctors saying he has dementia and can no longer live alone, of course, the VA takes their time on everything. So until I can get that done, I have no other choice but to try and raise some money for my dad to help pay for 24-hour in-home health care nurse or a nursing home, which would be our last option. I want to be able to keep my dad's wishes on living and dying in his own home if at all possible.
