Our mom, Sandra, is fighting Stage 4 cancer with incredible determination and a strong belief in her healing. But the daily reality of this battle is exhausting and overwhelming for everyone involved. Her fight has been a long one since before her terminal diagnosis in 2024. She was told she only had 6 months, but two types of studies and their treatments have kept her with us longer. But as we all know, immunotherapy has its own risks and side effects. Her body can no longer be on the go as she once could, but that does not change her mind, she is just taking things slower, but still not giving up. With Uveal Melanoma - MUM, the road has been tough, but we are here with her pushing through. We thank you in advance for reading. 

WHERE SHES AT NOW

Our moms body needs energy and physical support in ways it simply cannot produce on its own right now. To give her the best quality of life and keep her moving forward, she requires ongoing hands-on care, including professional massage therapy to manage pain and body fatigue, dedicated driving support for frequent appointments, and consistent daily assistance.

As her daughters, we have stepped in as her primary caregivers and drivers, constantly putting miles on the cars and managing round-the-clock care. At the same time, we are both fighting to keep our small businesses afloat—her passion for her plants and our family businesses—as our energy goes entirely into her health these days. The extra, hidden expenses of caregiving are piling up rapidly at a time when our family can barely cover the basics, especially with one of her son-in-law's recently being laid off this past June. We are stretched to our absolute limits, both physically and financially.

Where Your Support Goes

Every dollar raised will directly relieve this heavy strain and go toward:

Essential Physical Care & Comfort: Funding massage therapy and bodywork to ease Sandra’s severe physical strain and fatigue, caused mostly from the ascites, and having to get paracentesis procedure almost every week. 

Transportation & Mobility: Covering fuel, vehicle maintenance, and miles put on her car for constant care trips and appointments. She lives about 80 miles from where she has had her booth at a farmers' market for almost two years coming in Feb 2027 and where vending fees are much smaller than in her own city, she chooses to go to Hesperia, because her daughters live in the area, she gets to see all her grand-daughters and grand-sons in total as well. She feels good and busy, she says. So, in as much as we may want the best for her in staying close to her own city, we embrace her need for what SHE wants to do, and we support her through it as much as we can. 

Family Caregiving & Daily Relief: Offsetting the living and care expenses that have mounted since my (Ena) husband's layoff, allowing us to keep providing Sandra with assistance and keep our small businesses afloat.
