Milo update ❤️🐾

I was finally able to pick up my boy today, and honestly, getting him home was one of the biggest sighs of relief I’ve had in a long time. He seems a little better, but he still has a road to recovery ahead of him. After everything we’ve been through these last few days, I’m trying really hard to take the wins where I can get them.

The vets sent him home with medications, a new diet, and very specific instructions for keeping a close eye on him. The next several days are going to be really important. I’ll be watching to make sure he’s eating, drinking, taking his medications, resting, andmost importantly that his little body is moving in the right direction.

And today, we celebrated what may seem like a very small thing to most people…

Milo pooped. 😂😭💩

A tiny little poop, but I have never been so excited about poop in my entire life.

After everything that happened, we were told that if he didn’t start having a bowel movement, there was a very real chance we’d be heading right back to the emergency vet tomorrow. So when he finally managed to go, I practically wanted to throw a parade. 😂

For now, we’re taking it one day, one meal, one dose of medicine, one poop at a time.

I’m hoping and praying that this was our last emergency vet visit for a very, very long time. I would really love for the next chapter of this story to be boring: sleeping, eating his special food, taking his meds, slowly getting his strength back, and being his goofy Milo self again.

Thank you so much to everyone who has checked on him, sent love, offered support, donated, shared his story, or simply kept us in your thoughts. I cannot put into words how much it has meant to me during a really terrifying few days.

We’re home. He’s resting. I’m exhausted. And for today, we have poop.😂❤️
