Renee is my dear friend who recently lost her husband, Lee, on April 13th. The loss has been incredibly hard for her, and to make matters worse, her landlord gave her only four weeks to find a new place to live. Renee has no other family to lean on, and the stress has been overwhelming. Little Bit, the first dog Renee and Lee got together, has always been a source of comfort and companionship for Renee. Just last night, Renee’s uncle—who gave her away at her and Lee’s wedding—passed away, adding even more heartbreak to what she’s already facing.

After Lee passed away, Little Bit started acting sad, and everyone thought it was just grief. But soon, Little Bit's health began to decline rapidly. When Renee took her to the vet, they found a tumor that had grown from the size of a marble to a softball in just a month. At first, we hoped it was just an infected milk gland or a bite, but the situation quickly became urgent.

Little Bit needs surgery, and while she had originally scheduled it for the end of August to give us more time to gather funds, the tumor's rapid growth means the surgery must happen much sooner. The cost of this unexpected, urgent surgery is more than Renee can handle alone, especially after everything she's been through. I am reaching out for help because Little Bit is all Renee has left. If Little Bit can't get the surgery and something happens to her, Renee will be so heartbroken. I don't know if she would have the willpower to keep going each day.
