Our sweet boy Rigby is only 2½ years old, and already he’s been through more than most dogs ever should. Before we rescued him from the shelter, life wasn’t kind to him. When we brought him home, we promised him that from that moment on, he would only know love, safety, and the best life possible.

Now we’re facing something really hard. Rigby has a dislocated patella in his knee, and he needs surgery to fix it. Right now he’s wearing a little brace to help take pressure off and keep him mobile, but unfortunately this isn’t something that will heal on its own. Surgery is the only real long-term solution to give him the pain-free, happy life he deserves.

I’ve struggled even making this post because asking for help is hard. A part of me feels like I’ve failed him because I don’t just have $5,000 ready for his surgery. But I know Rigby is worth fighting for, and I can’t let pride stand in the way of getting him the care he needs.
