    A great word from Bryce….

Thank you all for continuing to keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers.

There have been no major changes in her condition this week. We are still waiting for her lungs to improve enough for surgeons to perform the open surgery needed to repair the fistula in her bowel, assess any additional damage, and thoroughly clean out the abdominal abscess. The hope is that once the bowel fistula is repaired, her body will have a much better chance of healing the fistula affecting her lung as well.

If all goes according to plan, she will still need another surgery to repair the vaginal communication with the abscess. If her lung does not heal on its own afterward, an additional surgery may be necessary to address that as well.

While the road ahead remains long, we continue to celebrate the small victories. Last night was her first night without supplemental oxygen, and she is now able to spend some time sitting up out of bed each morning. These may seem like small steps, but they are meaningful signs of progress, and we are grateful for each one.

Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and encouragement. They mean more to our family than words can express.

Acerca de esta recaudación

Brenda Hockenberry—a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished best friend—and her husband Lonnie are facing an incredibly difficult time and need our support. On Monday, Brenda was airlifted from Mt. Nittany ER to Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, fighting a serious infection, sepsis, dangerously low blood pressure, and oxygen levels. This crisis follows a year-long battle that began last June when she underwent a complete hysterectomy to remove a 22 cm dermoid tumor. Since that surgery, Brenda has endured numerous complications that have taken a devastating toll on her health, causing significant weight loss and muscle deterioration. She now faces 10-15 days in the hospital as her body fights this infection, followed by another surgery to repair damage from her original procedure. Throughout it all, Lonnie has remained faithfully by her side—exactly where he needs to be. However, this means Brenda cannot work for an extended period, leaving them without her income. Lonnie has been unable to work since 2020 due to a traumatic brain injury, making their financial situation even more challenging. Any contribution you can make would provide tremendous relief during this difficult journey. If you're unable to help financially, we deeply appreciate your prayers, love, and support as Brenda fights her way back to health.
