She has a small Injury to her right lung. Could have came from all the vomiting prior to surgery, or removing the ventilator, hard to actually know. It's leaking air into the outer area of her lung. They had to run another chest tube to try and suction it out. The X-ray this morning looks better but it's still a little there. Her chest tubes in her sternam should be able to come out today. They have weened her off most IV meds to pill form, which is great. Less boxes to be hooked up too. She walked yesterday with PT with no walker, which is also amazing. She's getting her strength back little by little.

We never thought May 6th would change our lives forever . My 16 year old daughter started having chest pains, I took her to the ER who immediately sent us to Duke hospital. She was diagnosed with with severe dilated Cardiomyopathy. She had to have an emergency surgery placing a device called an impella, inside her heart to keep it functioning until transplant. She has Virginia insurance so there's a battle between NC and VA for payment of a heart. I am a single mother that has dropped everything to be at my daughters bedside. The Drs anticipate I will be out of work approximately a year. The bills are starting to pile up. The disability progress for her has been lengthy already to get some assistance. Please help us fight this battle .
