Help Us Save Our First Home

This has been one of the hardest things I've ever had to write because asking for help doesn't come naturally to me.

My fiancèe and I recently bought our first home. We were so excited to finally have a place to call our own and to start this new chapter together. We knew buying a home would come with projects and repairs, and we were ready to work hard to make it our own.

What we weren't prepared for were the major issues we discovered after moving in.

Our home needs a complete roof replacement. We found a bedbug infestation that has to be professionally treated, which alone will cost around $2,000. The floors and walls have extensive damage, and we've recently learned there's a broken pipe somewhere that will require a plumber and could mean replacing sections of plumbing.

Every time we think we've reached the end of the list, another unexpected repair appears.

We're not looking for someone else to carry this burden for us. We're doing everything we can—working, budgeting, and tackling whatever repairs we can ourselves. But these major expenses have piled up faster than we could ever have planned for.
