15 Years of Compassion. One Dream for a Career.
For 15 years, I’ve been the one holding trembling hands before surgery, wiping tears from worried families, and whispering, "I'll take care of them." As a Medical Assistant and caretaker, I've learned that healing isn't just about medicine—it's about dignity, patience, and showing up with your whole heart.
But my heart has a new priority: my 3-year-old daughter.
Every time I soothe a scared patient, I think of her. And every time I work a double shift just to make ends meet, I think of the bedtime stories I'm missing. I love caring for others, but I want to give her a future where I'm not always exhausted, where I can afford her daycare without panic, and where she sees her mom walk across a graduation stage.
I’ve been accepted into a Surgical Technology program. Becoming a Certified Surgical Tech means stable hours, better pay, and a career where I can actually plan for her future—instead of just surviving paycheck to paycheck. It means I can start a college fund for her instead of worrying about groceries.
I've saved everything I can, but I'm short $2000 for tuition, lab fees, and my surgical instrument kit.
Where your kindness goes:
· $100 helps cover my sterile lab supplies—so I can practice safely.
· $100 goes toward my instrument kit (scalpels, forceps, retractors) that I'll use for years.
· $1800 brings me closer to graduation—and closer to giving my daughter the stable, secure life she deserves.
I've spent 15 years taking care of everyone else's family. Now, I'm asking for a little help to take care of mine.
Every share and every dollar says to my little girl: "Mommy's dream matters. And so do you."
Thank you from the bottom of my (and her) heart. 🩺👧
"I want her to know that compassion isn't just a job—it's a legacy. And this degree is how I pass it down to her." -Rebecca
