Hi everyone, my name is Hope. I am 60 years old, and exactly 28 days ago, my life completely changed when I had to undergo emergency colostomy surgery. I am launching this fundraiser because the physical recovery has left me unable to work, and the financial weight of rent, food, and medical bills has become too heavy to carry alone. My body is trying to heal from a massive procedure, and I am completely unable to work or stand for long periods. Because of my employment situation before the surgery, I do not qualify for unemployment benefits. The hospital bills are staggering, but my immediate emergency is basic survival. I am currently unable to afford my rent, buy groceries, or pay for the daily colostomy supplies that keep me safe from infection.
