For the past few months, my life has been turned upside down by serious health issues that have taken away my ability to work and keep up with my bills. I’ve been in and out of the hospital, most recently admitted for stroke-like symptoms. I live every day with hypertension, severe anxiety, and complex migraines that mimic strokes — dizziness, weakness on my left side, overwhelming fatigue, and constant pain.
During my last hospital stay, an MRI revealed a herniated disc at the top of my spine, right where my neck meets my head. It explains some of the pain, but not all of it. I’ve been tested for MS and several other conditions, but the doctors still don’t know exactly what’s happening. Not having answers has been terrifying. I’m trying to stay strong, but the symptoms make even simple tasks difficult, and working full-time has become impossible.
Missing so much work has caused me to fall behind on rent and bills, and now I’m facing the very real possibility of losing my home. I’ve tried everything — every program, every agency, every resource — to get help before August 20th, but nothing has come through in time. This is my last resort, and asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
I’ve even gone to food banks because I don’t qualify for SNAP, but many of the items I received were expired or unusable. I’m doing everything I can to survive, but I’m running out of options and time.
My employer is willing to let me work from home once I’m medically cleared — but I need a home to work from. I’m not asking for luxury or comfort. I’m asking for the chance to keep a roof over my head while I fight to get my health under control and rebuild my stability.
I have documents to prove everything — medical records, hospital paperwork, rent statements — and I’m willing to share them with anyone who needs reassurance. I’m just a woman trying to hold onto her home while her body is failing her in ways she never expected.
Any help, no matter how small, would mean more than I can ever express. Your kindness could be the reason I’m able to stay safe, stay housed, and keep fighting. I will be forever grateful.
