After 14 Years and 59 Moves, I’m Fighting for Stability

My name is Alexandria, and for the past 14 years, I have lived a reality that most people cannot imagine: I have been forced to move 59 times in pursuit of safety.

As a survivor of human trafficking and exploitation, every move represented a difficult choice to leave everything behind or risk remaining in danger. While many people spent the last decade building equity, establishing roots, and creating a sense of home, I was focused on surviving.

Today, I am no longer just surviving. I am working toward something I have never truly had: a safe, permanent place to call home.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I work full-time serving vulnerable children and families as an advocate. I have dedicated my life to helping others find safety, healing, and stability.

Now, I am asking for help creating that same stability for myself.

After years of rebuilding my life, I am finally in a position where homeownership is within reach. However, one major obstacle remains: my vehicle loan.

The remaining balance on my vehicle is approximately $11,500. While I have consistently made my payments, the monthly debt significantly impacts my ability to qualify for an affordable mortgage. Paying off this loan would dramatically improve my debt-to-income ratio, allowing me to pursue homeownership without becoming financially overextended.

This isn’t about buying a dream house.

It’s about finally having a home.

What Stability Would Mean

A home would mean:

  • No more wondering where I’ll be living next month or next year.
  • No more moving boxes stacked in corners because another move may be coming.
  • A safe place where I can finally exhale.
  • The ability to build community and put down roots.
  • A yard for my service dog, Finlee.
  • Freedom from the constant fear that accompanies instability.
  • A foundation for the future instead of another temporary stop along the way.

For many people, homeownership is a financial goal.

For me, it represents safety, healing, and the chance to stop running.

Why Your Support Matters

I know there are many worthy causes in the world. If you choose to support mine, please know that your gift is doing more than helping pay off a vehicle.

You are helping a survivor break a cycle of instability that has lasted more than a decade.

You are helping create a future where safety is not temporary.

You are helping someone who has spent years advocating for others finally experience the security she has worked so hard to help others find.

Whether you give $10, $50, $100, or simply share this campaign, every act of support brings me one step closer to opening the door to a place that is truly my own.

From My Heart, Thank You

There have been many moments over the past 14 years when I wasn’t sure what the future would hold. Yet through faith, perseverance, and the support of caring people, I have continued moving forward.

This campaign represents more than paying off a debt. It represents the possibility of finally ending a chapter defined by survival and beginning one defined by stability.

Thank you for believing that everyone deserves a safe place to call home.

Goal: $11,500

Purpose: Pay off vehicle loan, improve mortgage qualification, and create a pathway to safe, stable homeownership!

What Happens If We Exceed the Goal?

My fundraising goal of $11,500 is specifically intended to pay off my vehicle loan so that I can improve my mortgage qualification and pursue homeownership without being financially overextended.

If this campaign exceeds its goal, any additional funds will be used to help transform a house into a home. After moving 59 times over the past 14 years, I own very little that has survived the constant transitions. Extra funds will go toward essential furnishings and household items such as:

  • A bed and bedroom furniture
  • Living room furniture
  • Kitchen necessities
  • Appliances and household essentials
  • Moving expenses
  • Home maintenance and safety needs
  • Creating a comfortable space for my service dog, Finlee

For most people, furnishing a home is an exciting next step. For me, it would represent something much deeper, the opportunity to finally settle into a safe, stable space without the fear of having to leave again.

Every dollar beyond the goal will help me build not just a house, but a lasting foundation for the future.

“After 59 moves, I’m not asking for luxury. I’m asking for the opportunity to stay.”
