Kayla and her family are in urgent need of help after facing years of hardship and devastating setbacks. A little over 2 years ago, a neighbor’s tree fell onto their home, causing major structural damage to the roof, walls, trusses, and interior of the house. Just days later, Kayla unexpectedly lost her father. Since then, the condition of the home has continued to decline while life continued throwing obstacle after obstacle their way. Right now, the family is living with roof leaks, no electricity in half of the house, no working furnace, and several unsafe living conditions. Unfortunately, the home is not expected to survive another winter. Kayla is disabled and struggles daily with chronic physical pain, making it impossible for her to work a traditional job. Despite this, she continues doing everything she can to support her family and keep their lives together. They have tried selling belongings, picking up side income, and exploring financing options for a replacement home, but medical debt and debt to income limitations have made it nearly impossible to move forward alone. The funds raised will go directly toward helping this family secure safe housing before winter returns, including paying down critical debt and helping with the down payment needed for a replacement home.
