Help Us Cremate and Memorialize Maurice Devaulier Jones 

Our family is asking for help honoring the life of our beloved Maurice Devaulier Jones, who passed away on August 29, 2026, following serious health complications associated with septicemia.

Maurice was an artist, fashion enthusiast, entrepreneur, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He loved bold fashion, jewelry, conversation, laughter, and a good party. His favorite colors were red and black—colors that reflected his vibrant, unforgettable personality. Maurice also transformed his creativity into Devauliers Shoes, a luxury Italian shoe line that represented his imagination, ambition, and love of design.

Maurice faced tremendous physical and emotional hardships. After becoming a paraplegic, he lived with disability and chronic pain. More recently, he underwent an amputation and experienced serious infection and additional medical complications.

During the final period of his life, Maurice left a nursing rehabilitation facility after reporting concerns about mistreatment, neglect and the care he received or lack thereof. He was medically vulnerable and without stable housing. By the time of his passing, he had lost nearly everything, including his personal belongings and insurance policies. Jewelry, money, and other valuable possessions that had once been in his possession were also no longer available to help cover his final expenses.

These circumstances have left Maurice’s mother, Pamela Jones, facing the heartbreaking responsibility of arranging his cremation and memorial without the financial resources to do so.

We are seeking to raise $2,750.00 to help pay for:

Maurice’s cremation

A memorial service honoring his life

An urn for his remains

Related final arrangements and expenses

Any funds remaining after these expenses are paid will be used toward memorializing Maurice and preserving his creative legacy.

Maurice deserves to be remembered for more than the hardships he endured. He was an artist, a dreamer, a fashion lover, and the creative mind behind Devauliers Shoes. He was a father, a son, a brother, and a deeply loved member of our family.

Reason for the Fundraiser

Maurice passed away while experiencing homelessness and severe medical hardship. In his final days, he no longer had access to the insurance policies, personal belongings, jewelry, money, or other assets that might have helped pay for his final arrangements. As a result, his mother is unable to cover the cost of cremation and a memorial service on her own.

Our family is raising $2750.00 to provide Maurice with cremation, a memorial service, an urn, and a dignified final resting place.
