Meet Desiree and Tatiana Preston

Desiree and Tatiana have the true 21st century love story. It all starts when they met in 2022 on Tinder, of course. It was absolutely love at first sight for both of them. Even being considered long distance, any chance they could see each other and spend time together, they did. Making an hour drive to each other even if it was only for a few brief hours together, didn't matter. It was worth it for them from the beginning. Tatiana was still in the Army at the time they had met. She had joined up in 2014 and Desiree was working a Federal level corrections position. 6 months into dating Desiree got accepted to a job working at the ADX in Florence, CO and Tatiana, fresh out of the Army, was working at Lawton Correction Facility. Tatiana decided that she wanted out of Oklahoma and wasn’t going to let this girl go, so they packed up everything they barely owned in a Uhaul and set off to start their new life together. With Wrangler in tow and Desiree driving her Jeep, they made the trip to Pueblo, CO where they settled for the next year until they could buy a house together closer to work in Cañon City. Desiree and Tatiana were married on Oct 10, 2023 at city hall, then were able to have a true wedding on Oct 10, 2024. This was for friends and family to join them in celebrating a year of their love together. Both Desiree and Tatiana have worked hard to successfully get out of being correctional officers and into less stressful positions in admin and maintenance roles. This meant taking massive pay cuts for them both, in return for having days off together and less stress overall to help with their next milestone together in their fertility journey.

Desiree and Tatiana have wanted nothing more than to start a family of their own for some time now. Both have a strong desire to be mothers and have the ability to share their vast love with their own child. They would like to use Desiree's egg with a vetted sperm donor and have Tatiana carry the baby to term, so that their child will have a bit of both of them bringing it into this world. Thankfully the VA from Tatiana's time in the military has been able to help pay for all of Tatiana's medical procedures (IUI) in their fertility journey, but sperm and dna comparison are not covered. DNA comparison is to ensure neither party has the same positive genes that could be passed onto and impact the baby's health. Tatiana has tried IUI twice now with no success, while they are fully funding the additional costs associated with the fertility journey. This brings us to this fundraiser and why they need our help now. They are asking for help covering the cost of Desiree's procedure of extracting her eggs, the cost of the dna match now that they will have to compare Desiree to a new sperm donor, and the cost of sperm once a compatible donor has been selected. Tatiana will carry the baby due to Desiree's family history of miscarriages and complications. These are possibilities which they are trying to avoid at all costs. They would also love for both of them to be able to have these parts in making their child together. Each step in the process comes with it's own additional costs, but these are well worth it to be able to bring a child into their family.
