Our family recently experienced a heartbreaking loss. After a courageous battle with brain cancer, my stepmom passed away surrounded by the people who loved her most.
She was more than a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend—she was the heart of our family. Her strength, kindness, and love touched everyone who knew her, and the void left by her passing is impossible to put into words. The love she shared with my dad was something truly special, and losing her has left a tremendous hole in all of our lives.
As my dad begins to navigate life without his partner and best friend, we are hoping to ease some of the financial pressure that often follows such a devastating loss. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help cover his basic living expenses for the next six months, giving him the time and space to grieve, heal, and adjust to this new chapter without the immediate stress of financial burdens.
Anyone who knows my dad knows he is a hard worker. Even after losing the love of his life, he has continued showing up and doing his best every day. While work helps keep his mind occupied, no one should have to choose between earning a living and taking the time needed to grieve. Our hope is that this fundraiser will provide him with some financial breathing room over the next six months so he can take the time he needs to process this loss, rest when the weight of grief becomes overwhelming, and focus on healing.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward housing costs, utilities, groceries, transportation, and other essential day-to-day expenses during this transition period.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand and would be grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, support, and for helping us honor her memory by surrounding our family with love during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
With gratitude,
Kaysen and Family
