It breaks my heart to share that my beautiful mom has passed away after a long, brave battle with stage 4 cancer.

Watching her fight was one of the hardest things our family has ever gone through, but her strength inspired us every single day.

As we try to navigate this immense grief, we are hit with an unexpected hardship. Due to her onset of dementia, she unknowingly missed three months of her life insurance payments, causing her policy to lapse just before she passed. For the past 15 years, my mom always paid her premium on time. We had no idea that she was dealing with cognitive decline. Being that she was strong, active and about to turn 80, we all thought that it was just her getting older.

We are now facing the overwhelming cost of her funeral expenses ($8400) completely out of pocket. I am the only one left in our immediate family, and cannot afford the funeral expenses on a teacher's salary. We want nothing more than to give her the beautiful, dignified farewell she deserves, but we cannot do it alone.
