I have never asked for this kind of help before what’s so ever I've always thought of myself as self-sufficient and don't like asking for help not even when Priyanka was born with a cleft palate and was in and out of doctors appointments constantly for the first 9 months of her life up until she had repair surgery because we lived in Jersey and the doctors and healthcare system was amazing. So here goes as some of you may know Madon has been battling bad depression and anxiety since 2021 in which he was hospitalized for in NJ. Since then it’s been a roller coaster with him having ups and downs. He has been to therapists and psychiatrists for his mental health. I’ve always kept it private to an extent because I didn’t want him to be judged nor looked at any differently. Madon is such an amazing young man. He has a heart of gold and cares beyond words. Not only is Madon is the best big brother to Priyanka despite the age difference between them (10 years) he is the most amazing son we could have asked for. Madon has been to a therapist and psychiatrist with medicine involved here in Florida. Now, Madon has to go for psychological evaluations which is trying to figure out what’s underlying and making Madon have depression and anxiety so he can go back to living a normal teenage life. Madon has not one friend here in Florida, he is basically confined and isolates himself to his room because of the depression days on end no matter how much we beg him just to go out to eat, go to the beach, go in the pool, go to the park to play basketball he doesn’t because the depression. Madon has a hard time even attending school due to this. The school is working with us to keep Madon educated. The only time he enjoys himself really is when we have the time to visit his Aunt, Uncle (Nick my brother, and his cousins. We have insurance Aetna to be exact but the healthcare system and how the insurance works here is horrible and is only paying for partial care it’s not covered 100%. Depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders are among the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents. It kills us everyday as parents to know our son is going through this. Myself and Ben are working but it’s hard to keep up with every day expenses and now more doctors & evaluations for Madon. Again I’m not the one to do this but anything helps and is so appreciated by all of us. We love you all and thank you for reading Madon’s journey.
