Last night, an old main sewage line connected to our line experienced a severe blockage, causing contaminated water to burst back through our plumbing fixtures, flooding our living area and short-circuiting the main electrical outlets near the floorboards.

The toxic water has completely ruined our drywall, insulation, and lower-level flooring. To make this emergency worse, my home insurance policy has a strict 'sewer backup exclusion clause' and denied our claim for emergency biohazard cleanup. The restoration company requires a $5,200 upfront deposit for immediate toxic extraction and industrial dehumidification to prevent dangerous mold from spreading throughout the house.
