About this fundraiser

I have gone back and forth about sharing this because asking for help is incredibly hard for me. My parents aren’t exactly thrilled about me moving right now, and I understand their concerns. From the outside looking in, this probably doesn’t seem like the most logical time to move. But there is so much more behind this decision than simply wanting a new place to live.

For months, even before everything in my life changed, I kept feeling the same thing over and over: God was telling me to move.

At the time, I didn’t understand what that meant. I questioned it, tried to reason my way through it, and kept waiting for things to make sense. Then a relationship that had been part of my life for almost ten years diminished practically overnight, and suddenly the life I thought I knew looked completely different.

I ended up back at my parents’ house. I’m grateful that I had somewhere to go, but being there has become increasingly uncomfortable, and deep down I know I’m not supposed to settle there.

Meanwhile, the strangest things have continued happening. For months, I haven’t even been able to receive phone calls. Everything else on my phone works normally. I’ve tried to fix it, other people have tried to figure it out, and I even got an entirely different phone—yet somehow the problem continued.

That’s only one example of how this season has felt. It seems like I’ve spent months trying to force things to work that simply won’t.

Finding somewhere to live has been the same way.

I have submitted countless rental applications and paid application fee after application fee. I’ve applied for places considerably cheaper than this one. I’ve tried private owners and looked at every alternative I could think of. Nothing worked. After months of trying, those expenses added up, and some of my other bills have fallen behind in the process.

There were also countless nights when I ended up sleeping in my vehicle near the area where this home is located (Unaware/before I received the approval or even looked at the place.). Sometimes I would suddenly become so exhausted while driving that continuing wasn’t safe, so I would pull over and stay there.

Eventually, I realized something.

That area has been one of the only places in months where I feel genuinely calm. It’s somewhere I can sit quietly, take a deep breath, and feel like I can fully breathe again.

And then, after being denied everywhere else, this place approved me. And everyone I mention it too says the exact same thing “how did you get into that place?”

Somehow, the place I didn’t think I would qualify for said yes when cheaper places wouldn’t. After countless applications, fees, private owners, closed doors, and months of trying to make something—anything—work, the door that opened happens to be in the same place where I have repeatedly found peace.

I can’t ignore that.

I don’t claim to understand exactly what God is doing. I don’t know why some things have happened the way they have. But I do know that I felt Him telling me to move before I had any idea how much my life was about to change.

Maybe sometimes God gives us the instruction before He shows us the reason.

And maybe faith isn’t waiting until every bill is paid, every question is answered, everyone agrees with you, and the entire path makes perfect sense.

Maybe sometimes faith is simply saying, “I don’t understand this, God, but I’m going.”

Right now, the biggest thing standing between me and taking that step is the financial part. The money raised will help with my move-in expenses and give me some breathing room to catch up on bills that fell behind while I spent months desperately trying to find somewhere to live.

I’m not asking anyone to fix my life. I’m asking for help walking through the one door that finally opened.

If you feel led to help, donate, share this, or simply pray for me, I will be more grateful than I could ever explain.

I have spent months trying every direction I could think of.

But this is the direction that keeps bringing me back to peace.

God said move.

So, even though I’m scared and I don’t have every piece figured out yet, I’m finally listening.
