From Medical Assistant Graduate to Future Nurse: Help Me Continue My Healthcare Journey 🩺💗

Hello everyone,

My name is Akeila, and I am reaching out as I take the next step toward my dream of becoming a nurse.

My journey has not always been easy. From a young age, I’ve had to learn independence and navigate life without the strong support system that many people are fortunate to have. I have faced challenges that required me to become resilient, adaptable, and determined to create a better future for myself.

Through everything, I have continued to push forward and pursue my passion for healthcare. I completed my Medical Assistant program at Concorde Career College and earned my diploma. I have also earned my CNA diploma and completed my written exam. I am currently working toward completing the skills portion of my CNA certification, but scheduling available testing dates in Tennessee has been a challenge due to limited availability.

I chose nursing because caring for others is more than just a career to me — it is a passion. In my heart, helping someone feel better, making sure someone feels cared for, and knowing that I made a positive impact in another person’s life is something that brings me purpose. Being able to support people during some of their most vulnerable moments is something I feel called to do.

While I am still discovering what specific area of nursing I want to specialize in, I know that my goal is to become a nurse who provides compassion, comfort, and quality care to every patient I encounter.

My next step is beginning my LPN program, which will bring me closer to my long-term goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. This journey represents more than earning a degree — it represents growth, stability, and the opportunity to give back to others through healthcare.

The cost of continuing my education can be overwhelming, including tuition, books, uniforms, supplies, transportation, and other school expenses. I created this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial burden so I can focus on successfully completing my program and continuing toward my dream.
