Help Me Get Back on My Feet After an Unexpected Medical Crisis

I never imagined I would be writing something like this.

I have always been the person who works, takes care of things, and helps other people when they need it. Asking for help is honestly one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

On July 3rd, my life changed unexpectedly when I became extremely sick and was hospitalized in the ICU. I spent two weeks in the hospital and learned that I am dealing with serious liver problems and will need a liver transplant.

Since then, I have been unable to work because of the weakness, pain, and frequent medical appointments I now have to attend. My doctors are approximately five hours away, which has also created additional travel and gas expenses.

I have Medicaid, which I am incredibly grateful for, but there are still many everyday expenses that insurance does not cover. While I wait for my disability application to be processed, I have fallen behind on some of my bills and basic necessities.

One of the hardest parts of all of this has been being away from my children, who are currently in another state with their dad while I focus on getting healthy enough to be with them again.

I am creating this fundraiser because I need a little help getting through this difficult period—not because I expect anyone to fix everything for me. My goal is simply to catch up on essential expenses, help cover transportation to my medical appointments, and make sure I can afford basic necessities while I am unable to work.

Any amount, no matter how small, would mean more to me than I can put into words. And if you aren’t able to donate, sharing this privately with someone who may be able to help would mean just as much.

I am looking forward to the day when I can say that this chapter is behind me, get back on my feet, return to work, and most importantly, be back with my children.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness you are able to show me during this unexpected chapter of my life.

With gratitude,
Stephanie
