Lupe “Lupita” Mercado Cruz, 88, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in Houston, TX.  She fought and won a battle with colon cancer but the illness and succeeding surgery took a huge toll on her.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.  She had a beautiful personality; an extremely lively spirit, and a truly giving heart.  Her laughter and sense of humor was contagious and will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and beloved sister. 

Her untimely death left us unprepared for the high cost of funeral expenses as she did not have life insurance or any preplanned paid arrangements.
