Hello, my name is Logan Allen. I am reaching out to ask for your help in laying my mother, Dawn Allen, and my father, Kent Allen, to rest.
A little over a year ago, our family was shattered when my dad was tragically taken from us. Due to the sudden shock of his death and severe financial hardship, we were completely unable to hold a proper memorial for him. We are hard-working people, but living paycheck to paycheck meant we simply did not have the funds to give him the farewell he deserved.
Then, recently, my mother lost her hard-fought battle with cancer. Losing both of my parents so close together—one to violence and one to a devastating illness—has completely broken our hearts and left our family with nothing left to draw from.
My mom’s final wish was to have her ashes scattered on a small island just off the boat dock in our local Clearwater waters, followed by a simple memorial barbecue gathering with family and friends. My mom's mother, Ilme, wants to honor that wish on October 4th, which would have been my mom’s birthday. It would mean everything to our entire family—including my dad’s mother, Gogo—to bring both of my parents out to the island together, fulfill my mom’s wish, and finally give my dad the proper memorial we couldn't give him last year.
Because we are starting with $0, we need community support to make this happen. My uncle had to stretch everything he had to pay for their cremations out of pocket. We are trying to raise $600 to cover:
- Boat Rental & Fuel: To transport our family and my parents' ashes out to the island.
- Transportation & Rideshare Fees: To get family members to and from the dock and park.
- Memorial Barbecue: Simple food, charcoal, and supplies for a family gathering at the park.
- Cremation Costs: Any remaining funds will go directly toward reimbursing my uncle for the heavy cremation costs he took on.
With October 4th starting at 4:30 location 201 Seminole St, Clearwater, FL 33755 just days away, any help you can offer—whether it is a small donation or simply sharing this page with others—would mean more to my family than words can say.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us give Dawn and Kent the peaceful rest they deserve.
Thank you so much, and God bless you.
Yours truly,
Logan Allen
