After the heartbreaking loss of my mom, Lucy Reyes Miller, our family came together to support my dad, Duane, as he begins navigating life without the woman he shared nearly 40 years with.

Because of the incredible generosity of our family, friends, and community, we were able to use a portion of the funds raised to help cover the reception following Mom's funeral. Those donations helped pay for the venue, food, and refreshments, allowing everyone who loved her to come together to celebrate her life. We are deeply grateful to everyone who made that possible.

While Mom has now been laid to rest, the financial challenges are far from over. My dad is retired, living on a fixed income, and with Mom's passing, he has lost half of their household income. In the weeks and months ahead, he will also need to hire a probate attorney to help settle Mom's estate and navigate the legal and financial responsibilities that follow the loss of a spouse.

This fundraiser is now focused on helping ease those ongoing financial burdens. Any remaining funds will go directly to my dad and may help with:

• Probate attorney and estate-related expenses.

• Providing financial stability after the loss of half of his household income.

• Unexpected expenses that often arise after the loss of a loved one.

Anyone who knew my mom knows how deeply she loved her family. She spent her life caring for those around her, opening her home and heart to everyone she met. One of the greatest ways we can continue to honor her memory is by helping care for the person she loved most.
