✨ Another Lost Life, But Not a Lost Star: Honoring Mercedes “Miss Star” Radford ✨
Our family is heartbroken over the tragic loss of our beloved Mercedes Janae Nicole Radford, affectionately known as “Miss Star.” Her life was taken far too soon, leaving behind family, friends, and loved ones who are struggling to understand this devastating loss. Although her time with us was cut short, the light she brought into this world will never be forgotten.
Mercedes was born in Bartow, Florida, where she attended James E. Stephens Elementary School. Through determination, hard work, and a desire to build a better future for herself, she worked her way up to become a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She dedicated herself to caring for her patients and encouraged others to follow in her footsteps. Mercedes was an example of what it means to work hard, create your own path, and continually strive for excellence.
But Mercedes had dreams that extended beyond her work as a CNA. She aspired to become a beautician and continue building a future that reflected her talents, ambitions, and passion. She also wanted to use her voice and experiences to help bring awareness to domestic violence and motivate women who may find themselves in violent or abusive relationships. She wanted others to recognize their worth, know that they were not alone, and understand that they deserved safety, love, and support.
It is heartbreaking that Mercedes’ life ended in such a tragic way. No family should have to endure the pain of losing someone they love to violence. While we grieve the loss of our beloved Miss Star, we are determined to keep her memory alive and honor the dreams, compassion, and purpose she carried in her heart.
We are asking for your love and support as we prepare to send Mercedes home. As a licensed CNA without life insurance, she left our family facing the unexpected financial burden of her funeral and homegoing expenses during an already painful time. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help our family honor Mercedes with the homegoing celebration she deserves. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your prayers would mean just as much.
Your support will also help us bring attention to the devastating impact of domestic violence, stand with women who may be experiencing abuse, and seek justice for Mercedes. We hope that by sharing her story, we can encourage others to speak up, seek help, support survivors, and work toward a world where fewer families have to experience this kind of heartbreak.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every donation, every share, every prayer, and every act of kindness shown to our family. Your compassion reminds us that even in our darkest moments, we do not have to walk this journey alone.
Mercedes may no longer be physically present with us, but her light, her dreams, and her legacy will continue to shine through everyone she touched and every life her story inspires.
Another lost life, but not a lost star.
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever our Miss Star. ✨💔
