About two years ago, I was in a truck wreck, and I am still dealing with the effects every day. I used to be a commercial diver, and that work has had an effect on my brain because of the pressure, but now I can't work or drive. I have three bumps on my brain, and even though things have improved a little from how bad it was right after the wreck, it has not gone away.
Some days it is hard for me to move around, and I have to keep a hand on something so I do not feel like I am going to fall. Living this way for so long has changed every part of my daily life. I am 45 years old, and it is hard to admit that I feel like a little kid again because I cannot do the things I used to do for myself.
Right now I have no income, and my mom has been paying for everything. That has been a burden on her, and it weighs on me because there is nothing I can do to help the way I want to. I am asking for support with ongoing living expenses and with seeing a neurologist. I do not have insurance, so I have to pay out of pocket, and brain injuries are not cheap.
Recurring donations would help me keep up with these continuing needs from month to month while I am unable to work, and one-time donations would also make a real difference. Every gift will help take some pressure off my mom, help cover basic living costs, and help me get the medical care I need. If you are able to donate or share this fundraiser, thank you for helping me through this long and difficult stretch.
