Help Matthew Recover After Being Hit Head-On By a Truck
Campaign Story:
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
On May 30, 2026, a day that should have been a normal Saturday, our lives changed forever. [Matthew / My husband / My brother] was riding his bicycle in the designated bike lane when a speeding truck suddenly swerved and hit him head-on.
The impact was devastating. Matthew survived, and we are profoundly grateful to God that he is still with us, but he faces an incredibly long, painful road to recovery. He has suffered severe injuries that will require extensive medical care, months of physical therapy, and psychological support to help him process this immense trauma.
To make a heartbreaking situation even harder, Matthew currently does not have health insurance.
Because of the severity of his injuries, the doctors want to transition him into a specialized rehabilitation facility to give him the best chance at regaining his mobility. However, without insurance, the costs are astronomical.
Right now, Matthew is carrying a heavy emotional burden. Instead of being able to focus entirely on healing, he is experiencing deep depression and agonizing worry over how his family will survive. He is constantly stressing about bills, mounting medical expenses, and daily living costs now that he is unable to work.
As a family, we are doing everything we can to stay positive and hold onto hope, but the reality is that we cannot do this alone. We are reaching out to our community to ask for help to keep this family from hitting complete rock bottom.
How You Can Help:
Donate: Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly toward Matthew’s rehabilitation, medical bills, and keeping the family afloat with basic living expenses (rent, utilities, food) while he cannot work.
Share: Even if you cannot donate, please share this link with your friends, family, coworkers, and church communities. Spreading the word is incredibly powerful.
Pray: We believe in the power of prayer. Please keep Matthew, his medical team, and our family in your daily prayers as we navigate this dark time.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read Matthew's story. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean more to us than words can ever express.
God bless you all. 🙏🙌🐞
