À propos de cette collecte de fonds

Phillip is only twenty-six years old, yet his life has already become deeply devoted to the study of Scripture, ancient languages, and the preservation of biblical knowledge. Currently living in Thailand with his wife and child, he spends his days teaching Greek, Hebrew, Latin, and Syriac online while continuing his own rigorous studies late into the night.

Those who know Phillip quickly notice that he is not merely intelligent. He possesses an unusual devotion to learning and a genuine desire to share what he discovers with others. His sharp mind for linguistics, his discipline, and his willingness to help students understand difficult ancient texts have already inspired many around him, including close friends who have been encouraged by his example to pursue biblical and historical studies themselves.

Phillip’s long-term mission is ambitious but deeply meaningful. He hopes to create a complete set of critical texts for the Bible, the Apostolic Fathers, and other important Second Temple literature by studying manuscripts. He also plans to develop new Hebrew and Greek lexicons designed specifically to help Bible students understand Scripture more accurately through the original languages. Beyond this, he hopes to continue discovering and studying ancient manuscripts, publishing research, and contributing textual commentaries that will benefit both scholarship and the Church.

For Phillip, this work is not simply academic. His study of Scripture is an act of devotion. He believes that by studying the biblical text carefully and preserving its languages faithfully, he honors Christ and serves the Church by helping others encounter the Scriptures more deeply and accurately.

Recently, Phillip received a rare opportunity to continue his studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, focusing on the Bible and the Ancient Near East, including languages such as Akkadian. This field of study would directly strengthen his work in biblical linguistics and cognate studies, helping him build better tools for students and scholars alike.

Jerusalem carries special meaning for him. It is the land where many biblical events unfolded, the setting of the very texts he has devoted himself to studying. His mentor was also closely connected to the Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, which deepened Phillip’s desire to study there not only as a scholar, but also as a pilgrim. In Jerusalem, he would gain access to resources and manuscript traditions unavailable elsewhere, including research environments connected to the Dead Sea Scrolls and other ancient materials essential to his future work.

Phillip has already committed himself fully to this opportunity. In order to secure a significant tuition discount, he paid in advance despite his limited finances. However, because he values his family deeply, he refuses to leave his wife and child behind. The remaining challenge is the cost of travel, visa requirements, and initial living expenses for his family in Israel.

To obtain the visa, he must also provide proof of financial stability amounting to several thousand dollars. If he cannot meet these requirements, he risks losing both the opportunity and the tuition already invested. At the same time, if he withdraws, he would still be responsible for paying the remaining tuition balance.

Despite these difficulties, Phillip has not stopped working. He continues teaching ancient languages online, seeking additional opportunities to tutor and provide educational services wherever possible. He has already taught many students, can work directly with ancient manuscripts, has two books currently in the publishing process, and has published academic papers online. Yet even with constant work, supporting a family while preparing for international study has become financially overwhelming.

Phillip is seeking to raise $5,000 to cover airfare for his family, visa financial requirements, and initial living expenses in Israel. This support would allow him not merely to attend a university, but to continue building a lifetime of work dedicated to biblical scholarship, ancient languages, and service to the Church.

There are many intelligent people in the world, but far fewer who combine ability with devotion, perseverance, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others. Phillip is one of those rare people. What he needs now is not talent or determination, but simply the opportunity to continue the work he has already begun.

Any support, whether through donations, sharing his story, or keeping him and his family in prayer, would help make this opportunity possible.
