Please Help Us Give Lisa the Goodbye She Deserves

On April 30th, Lisa Mott Massey, 66, took her last breath and the way she left this world has broken us completely.

Lisa knew pain for most of her life. She survived cancer, but the surgery left her suffering every day after. She lived with severe stomach pain, going weeks without eating, losing weight, getting sick over and over, begging hospitals for help but rarely getting it.

Still, Lisa gave love. She didn’t have children of her own, but she raised kids she called her own and opened her heart to anyone who needed it. She took care of others her whole life—even caring for her parents before they passed from cancer, just like so many in our family.

But in the end, when Lisa needed help the most, she was left waiting in a hospital, struggling to breathe. Witnesses say she was ignored. She went into cardiac arrest and passed away without the care she deserved.

She lost her parents, her sisters, and her husband. Now she leaves behind no one who can afford to lay her to rest. My mother, who cared for Lisa while struggling herself, does not have the money to bury her.

We are asking for anything, any small amount to help us give Lisa a proper goodbye.

She spent her life loving others. Please help us show her that love one last time.
