This year has been incredibly challenging for my family. Work has been scarce, and despite my best efforts applying for work-from-home positions, I've discovered that finding employment at 55 is harder than I ever expected. The rejections have been discouraging, but I'm determined to keep moving forward and improve our home in the process.

That's why I'm raising funds to build a screened-in porch and skirt my house here in Nacogdoches. These improvements aren't just about making our home more comfortable and beautiful, though they will certainly do that. This project represents hope and forward momentum during a difficult season.

A screened porch would give our family a peaceful outdoor space to gather and relax, and skirting the house will protect and preserve it for years to come. These are improvements I've wanted to make for a long time, and tackling them now feels like reclaiming some control and optimism.
