Or there is this one that I did for the description for the fundraiser.
Our family is reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your support for our oldest son, brother, and father, Rick.
Just three weeks ago, Rick experienced what seemed like an ordinary accident when he fell at work. During the CT scan to evaluate his injuries, doctors unexpectedly discovered a tumor about the size of an orange on his frontal lobe. While hearing the word “tumor” turned our world upside down, we are incredibly grateful that doctors believe it is benign and encapsulated on the lining of the brain rather than within the brain itself. Rick is otherwise healthy and strong, and he had no symptoms before the fall, giving us hope for a successful surgery and recovery.
This journey has been especially difficult because it comes only a year and a half after the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Shell. Rick and his boys have already endured so much, and now they are facing another unexpected challenge together. Through it all, Rick has remained strong for his family, but no one should have to carry this burden alone.
Rick has already been unable to work for the past two weeks and is expected to be out of work for another 6–8 weeks following surgery while he recovers. As the sole provider for his family, the loss of income, combined with upcoming medical expenses and everyday household costs, has created a significant financial strain during an already overwhelming time.
If you feel led to give, no amount is too small. Every donation will go directly toward helping Rick and his boys with medical expenses, bills, and daily living costs while he focuses on healing. If you are unable to give financially, we ask that you keep Rick, his boys, his medical team, and our family in your prayers. Your love, encouragement, and prayers mean more to us than words can express.
Thank you for standing beside our family during this difficult season. We truly believe it takes a village, and we are so grateful for every act of kindness, every prayer, every share, and every gift. Your support allows Rick to focus on what matters most right now—his surgery, his recovery, and being there for his boys.
