Help Us Build a Safe Haven for Stray & Abandoned Cats in Suwannee County!

​Hi, I’m Dawn, founder of The Whisker Waypoint.

​What started as a labor of love in a single room of my home has quickly outgrown our walls. Every day, local strays, abandoned kittens, and cats in need of urgent care arrive at our doors. While we have done everything possible to give them warmth, medical care, and a second chance, the demand in our community is far greater than what one home can hold.

​To continue saving lives and serving Suwannee County effectively, The Whisker Waypoint needs a dedicated, physical shelter facility.

​Why We Need Your Help

​Operating out of a private residence severely limits how many animals we can rescue, quarantine, and rehabilitate at one time. A dedicated rescue building will allow us to:

• ​Expand Rescue Capacity: Move cats out of home confinement and into a spacious, purpose-built facility designed for animal welfare.
• ​Proper Quarantine & Medical Care: Create dedicated spaces for sick or incoming rescues to prevent the spread of illness and give vulnerable kittens a safe place to heal.
• ​Safe Meet-and-Greet Spaces: Provide a welcoming environment where potential adopters can visit, interact with the cats, and find their perfect match.
• ​Community Resources: Build a stable foundation to expand local spay/neuter outreach and rescue efforts.

​Where the Funds Will Go

​Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward establishing our new shelter space:

• ​Structure & Setup: Purchasing/securing a suitable building or modular facility outfitted for animal housing.
• ​Enclosures & Habitats: Installing safe, cleanable habitats, cat trees, free-roaming play areas, and essential supplies.
• ​HVAC & Sanitation: Ensuring proper climate control and sanitation systems to keep the animals healthy year-round.
