Update: I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that Deanna has not had her transplant and will not have it for six months or more. She is trying to get on the list. And all this time she’s been having testing done and other things that she can explain more in detail but as we talk about it, but it’s hard to put it all in words on here. It’s a LOT. I can just tell you this is not an inexpensive surgery. It is very expensive, the aftercare will be expensive, and things leading up to can be expensive. Again, she does not like to ask for handouts and will not and this is not a handout…this is helping someone get their life back. This is helping someone live again. This is keeping a family stay together. So thank you so much ahead of time for everyone who has donated and thank you so much for all the prayers that she has received. Please please keep those coming. And if you can donate anything else at all, that would be spectacular! I will let Deanna comment in the comment section if she wants to update a little bit better than I’m doing today. But I wanted to make sure everyone knew that things are still in a process that unfortunately is a slower process than I know she would like so just keep the prayers coming and if you can’t donate, it is all appreciated! God bless… Jenny
This fundraiser is for my beautiful & resilient friend Deanna Lowman. She has been fighting a battle for quite some time after finding out she had non-alcoholic liver disease along with end stage liver cancer. These are both so far along the only chance for her is a new liver. Guess what… She got the greenlight! Now what she needs is help from us. Lots of testing and long days ahead. Before the transplant and after. Not only does she need our prayers, but she needs help funding for hotel stays, medical bills, so many different things. She is very humble and does not like to ask for “handouts”, but knows they need help and so I decided I would step up and let you guys know that this girl has been stronger than many of you know. She suffers with resilience, pushes through to stay positive through doctors appointments after doctors appointments, lots of medication, infections, painful procedures, MRIs, fatigue, gastrointestinal issues, etc. I’ve seen her pushing through it all over the past year. This hit her so quickly she did not know it was coming. She was in good health she thought, exercising daily and feeling great. We just never know when something‘s going to strike. She is my liver sister and Duke has taken on her case and finally decided that her tumors on her liver are large enough for her MELD score to go down which can get her on a transplant list! There are no fees associated with this funding site, which is why I chose it so every dime will go to her and her care…whatever that may be… whether it’s hotel stays for testing, bills (because they only have one income), medications, even meals. It will all be to support her and her loved ones that are helping, to give her a chance at life again. She is a God-fearing, beautiful soul… So donate what you can because every little bit counts. She has fought and fought and keeps fighting and she put her trust in God. And now is the time for us to come through for her. I set it at $5000 because this is a very expensive procedure from beginning to end. And that will probably just scratch the surface.Thank you so much for anything you can give. Love & God bless, Jennifer
