I'm Chelsea Hughes, a mother who has been struggling with addiction and has lost everything. Despite my best efforts, I've fallen short and have lost custody of my children. As hard as that is to tell the world I've finally gotten to a spot where Ive taken accountability for choices which ultimately led me to today. You know I would have never thought this is where I would be or that I would let the hardships or life and depression bring me to where I'm at today. Admittedly I use to see others with addiction and losing everything and I would say to myself "how?"or " how stupid like how would you let it get so bad, I would never do do that". I would never had guessed that depression and hardships in life would lead me to where I am today. But with strength and courage I have overcome that addiction by myself, with my children being the only thing leading me to sobriety, one day I just said to myself what are you doing , put your big girl underwear on and stop feeling sorry for yourself ,your daughter's need you. It's been a struggle to say the least but I havent given up. With your help, I'm determined to get my life back on track and give my children the loving, stable home they deserve. Ater overcoming my addiction, I'm now committed to rebuilding my life and fighting for custody of my children. This journey won't be easy, but I'm ready to face the challenges head-on.
