In 2006, U.N.I.T.Y (Uniting Neighborhoods and Inspiring Today’s Youth) started an Adopt A Family Program with the goal of helping families across the Metro Detroit area during the holiday season. We want to take adopting families a step further by partnering with other organizations to assist with more than provisions of food and gifts. 

U.N.I.T.Y. plans to help those respective families for three months from November to January. During the Thanksgiving season, we will give each family a food basket to ensure they have the holiday meal every family should have. During the Christmas season, we will give the children gifts to give them the holiday experience every child deserves. In January, we will focus on household wish lists and resources to help with family hardships.
