Hello all, I have exciting news to share! 

          For those who don’t know me, my name is Symantha Nadal. I am a 21 year old college student who moved back home to New York City in August of 2025, after graduating from Summit International School of Ministry, April 2025. I started working for The Bowery Mission’s Children’s Program January 2026 in the South Bronx. I am a program coordinator for Mont Lawn Camp’s after school program (Mont Lawn City Camp) and have the joy of serving families and their children on a day to day basis. I’ve been involved with children’s ministry for the past three years, since I first gave my life to Christ, and have been presented an opportunity to serve children amongst others in Harare, Zimbabwe May 8th to the 16th. 

          This opportunity is unique and special to me because I get to be the hands and feet of Jesus with my mother. Since my walk with Christ began, I’ve been praying for my mom, who recently gave her life to Christ in January. She had come home one day from a midweek service and said, “I’m going to Africa!” I was surprised to hear such words but more so excited to be a part of what God is doing in my mother’s life. He truly does exceedingly and abundantly. I can’t say this opportunity could have presented itself in any other way if it had not been for Visions and Dreams visiting a midweek service my mother attended. This is the sovereignty of our God.

      Visions and Dreams is a program of the Africa Missions Association. Their Visions and Dreams program focuses on mission trips to Africa that serve the poor and work with other partnered churches to reach local communities. This opportunity to go to Africa involves working with Dr. Mark Ottenweller and others from Visions and Dreams in serving the poor, especially the children in Africa. We will be assisting Hope Worldwide and volunteers from local churches under Dr. Ottenweller’s supervision, who has lived and worked in Africa for 18 years. This trip will also provide the chance to work with Early Childhood Development in the informal settlements to help them and their caregivers with education, health, nutrition, exercise, immunizations, reading, and parental bonding. I am excited about helping the orphans and children of Africa and to learn more about Early Childhood Development with its long-term impact on their lives. 

         Your prayers are needed in this matter. I have not been on a mission trip nor have I been outside of the country. I understand the weight of spiritual warfare that may come and ask that your prayers cover my mother and I. This experience will be new and life changing for us both and I look forward to the way my mother and I will continue to grow in the Lord together.
