Our neighborhood is located on a private, off-grid road, meaning there is no municipal maintenance or public funding available to address critical infrastructure issues. One of the most serious challenges we face is a low water crossing that increasingly floods during rainstorms, leaving residents on the other side, and further up the road, cut off from safe and reliable access.
As severe weather events become more frequent and unpredictable, this crossing has flooded with growing regularity. Each storm presents a renewed risk, creating unsafe driving conditions and limiting access for emergency vehicles. For families who rely on this road as their only route in and out, the threat of being stranded during heavy rain is a constant and escalating concern.
Because this is a privately maintained road, responsibility for repairs and improvements falls entirely on the residents and community members who depend on it. We are urgently seeking support to replace the existing low water crossing with a properly engineered, paved concrete crossing designed to withstand increased rainfall and significantly reduce flood risk.
Immediate Use of Funds
All funds raised will be used promptly and exclusively for:
- Concrete paving and structural materials
- Drainage, grading, and water-flow improvements
- Labor, equipment, permits, inspections, and construction costs
Why Acting Now Is Critical
Delaying this project increases the risk of:
- Residents being isolated during severe weather
- Emergency vehicles being unable to access homes
- Ongoing erosion and damage that will raise future repair costs
By acting now, before further storms occur, we can create a durable, long-term solution that protects access, safety, and peace of mind for everyone in our private community. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring that no neighbor is left stranded when the weather turns dangerous.
Thank you for standing with us and supporting this urgent community-led effort.
