About this fundraiser

We would love to have a place for Arron’s friends to pay their respects to him. A place for his ashes to rest. He is so missed.

On July 8, 2024, Arron Joshua McGill peacefully departed this life at his residence in Sebring, Florida where he lived since February 2020 with his partner, Y'honatan Gimbel. Arron wanted to support Y'honatan with the support and care of his mother. She is more than thankful and supportive of Arron's caregiver skills and returned the support to him when needed. Arron is survived by his parents Rongelynn Anastecia Brown and Vernon Juan McGill. Arron was blessed and supported by several stepsiblings, his aunts, and uncles on the McGill and Brown side his family.

Arron attended Long Creek Elementary School in Huntersville and Brier Creek Elementary School in Charlotte, NC where he was a prized student. Arron attended Northwest School of the Art, located in Charlotte, NC. While at Northwest School of the Arts, Arron was noted as one of only male students who learned and perfected the pointe technique, in which a ballet dancer puts all their body weight on the tips of fully extended feet when wearing pointe ballet shoes. What an accomplishment, but then again, it was Arron's character. If you knew him, you wouldn't surprised by this.

He also played characters in many plays. A couple of his favorites, were Carmen, Carmen, and Fiddler on the Roof, not to mention he had a 3.9 GPA. After graduating, he hoped to attend a Theater of Arts School. He was accepted in North Carolina, but when that did not go as planned, Arron had a second plan. He moved to New York City, with hopes of pursuing other hopes and dreams, which he did. Arron's choices for employment all reflected his big onality for his love of helping people and his special gift of style and craftsmanship. While in New York he worked at the Downstairs Theater in Rochester, New York, and later began to work manager at a prominent hotel.

When he returned to North Carolina he worked in the food service and decorating industries. Some of his favorite jobs in those industries included but were not limited to, McCormick & Schmick's, Zink, La-tea-da's, and Pier 1 Imports. In Florida: The Humane Society of Florida, and Boom Room's Gun Shop to name a few.

Arron had a love of Disney movies. Some of his favorites were 101 Dalmatians, Aladdin, The Barbie Movie, The Little Mermaid, and Cinderella. His true admiration for Hello Kitty came about when he was a child and grew into his adult life, as you can tell from looking around the sanctuary.

On July 24, 2019, Arron appeared before the Bet Din including Asher Knight, Rabbi; Mary R.

Thomas, Cantor; and Judy Schindler, Rabbi, where he was immersed under the auspices of Temple Beth El in the mikveh at Temple Israel, Charlotte, NC for conversion to Judaism.

A big part of Arron's life was performing drag shows - his trade name was Ms. Carmen Banks!!!!! This came about from his love of fashion, make up, hair, and jewelry. Arron loved a good pocketbook!!!! He collected China, and all sorts of holiday decorations.

He loved his dogs, Zeus Apollo and Basil.

His love of his Ma was UNMATCHED!!

He had an innate sense of right and wrong and never wanted to see anyone sad. He loved music of all kinds of genres. Arron loved planning and preparing meals for family and friends. His joy for living was evident and he lit up the room! His laugh was infectious. The effect he had on any and everyone he met was phenomenal. He met no strangers. You always wanted to be around him. You never wanted to see him go. He met a friend no matter where he went. He had such a good nature that he ALWAYS saw the good in so many people,  Everyone should be like that Big kid... Who never grew up!!

Rest well with God now Arron, a good and faithful servant!!!
