Ashley and Shawn were married on March 26, 2016, and have spent nearly a decade building a life together through all of life’s highs and lows. Ashley will tell anyone that Shawn is the love of her life, and she cannot imagine facing this journey without him. A true Southern belle with a heart of gold, Ashley has always been someone who puts others first. As a dedicated home health caregiver, she spends her days caring for patients, and her nights caring for her family—her son Aiden, her husband, and their pets—often leaving little time or energy for herself.
In an instant, everything changed. On January 28, Shawn was rushed to the hospital after suffering two strokes and was admitted to the ICU. Since that devastating day, Ashley has rarely left his side. Shawn is now at OhioHealth Mansfield undergoing intensive rehabilitation, working tirelessly to relearn skills and adjust to a new normal. Ashley continues to be there every day, offering strength, encouragement, and unwavering love as he pushes forward.
While focusing on Shawn’s recovery, Ashley has also been faced with mounting financial and logistical burdens. Their only personal vehicle—Shawn’s truck—is currently unsafe to drive and in need of repairs. Ashley has exhausted her paid time off from work and is making the 40-minute drive from their home in Willard to Mansfield to bring supplies, manage household needs, and care for her family. The emotional and financial strain has quickly become overwhelming.
This fundraiser is an opportunity to help ease some of that burden. Donations will help cover transportation needs, vehicle repairs, daily expenses, and basic necessities so Ashley can remain focused on what matters most—supporting Shawn’s recovery and keeping their family together during this incredibly difficult time. Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, will make a meaningful difference for this family as they navigate the road ahead.
