Help Restore Teretha’s Home — A Beloved 90-Year-Old and Community Giver
 

My name is Eddie Henderson III, and I’m reaching out to help my 90-year-old mother, Teretha, who has given so much to others throughout her life — and now needs help herself.

Teretha has lived in her Buchanan, Michigan home since 1959, where she raised her family with her late husband, Eddie Sr., who passed away in 1997. A former business owner and devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness community, she was always known for giving back — offering kindness, help, and spiritual support to neighbors and strangers alike.

Today, she is bedridden and unable to use her hands, making even small tasks a challenge. Her home, once a source of pride, is in urgent need of critical repairs:

• Damaged exterior veneer and chimney

• Black mold in bathrooms that poses serious health risks

• Interior updates to make the space senior-accessible, including voice-activated smart home controls and security to keep her safe and independent

We are raising funds to ensure Teretha can live her final years in comfort, safety, and dignity — in the same home she’s nurtured for over six decades.
