On Friday 5/8 Athena was at recess and fell off the slide which resulted in her breaking her arm and needing surgery. I was trying to avoid having to ask for help but unfortunately I am having to use more time off work than I have and I cannot afford to not get paid. I am also bracing myself for the amount of medical expenses I will have from having to go from Urgent Care, Calvert Memorial, and then to Children’s in DC. Any little bit helps right now and I am thankful for anything! Athena will be able to return to school once she gets her hard cast on so hopefully that happens this week!

Thank you!
Thank you to anyone who has helped out so far! Athena meets with the surgeon on Thursday to hopefully get the hard cast put on and hopefully I will be able to return to work on Monday. Originally they said Athena could have returned to school yesterday (Tuesday) but changed it to her being able to return after the hard cast is put on. My work sadly doesn’t allow others to donate time so after today I will be out of vacation time. Athena was finally able to make a fist and move her fingers last night so she is on the right track to recovery!
