❤️ Please Help Us Fight for Our Baby Scarlett ❤️
I never imagined I would have to write something like this about my own child.
Our beautiful 5-month-old daughter, Scarlett, is fighting for her life.
Scarlett suffered a devastating traumatic brain injury after aspirating on her formula while she was asleep. She remains in a coma, and every single day we wake up praying that today will be the day she gives us another sign that she is still fighting.
We were told to say goodbye.
Doctors told us they did not believe Scarlett would make it. We were preparing ourselves for the unimaginable—to lose our baby girl.
But Scarlett wasn't ready to give up.
She has continued to fight. She has continued to prove them wrong.
Her brain activity testing has not been consistent with brain death, and that has given us something we desperately need right now: hope.
As her parents, we cannot simply stop fighting for her. We cannot look at our precious daughter and give up while there is still hope.
We are trying to pursue hyperbaric oxygen therapy as a potential part of Scarlett's recovery, but the financial cost is something our family simply cannot carry alone.
Our entire world has been turned upside down.
My husband has lost his job because he has been at the hospital with Scarlett, and his position had to be filled. Right now, we have no income coming in. Our home is approximately 75 miles from the hospital, yet we continue making that journey and spending as much time as possible at Scarlett's bedside.
We also have our 4-year-old child who needs us during this incredibly painful time.
We are exhausted. We are heartbroken. We are scared. But we are not giving up on our little girl.
I have created fundraising pages and have reached out for help, but so far, we haven't received the support we desperately need. And honestly, it breaks my heart.
Scarlett is more than a diagnosis.
She is more than a hospital bed.
She is our daughter.
She is our baby.
She is deeply loved.
Every day she fights, we fight alongside her.
We are asking for help because we want to give Scarlett every opportunity we possibly can.
