About this fundraiser

Hello everyone,

My name is Jeremiah Garcia, and I’m creating this

GIVE A HAND on behalf of my entire family:

My mother, Athena

Her hubby, Adam

My wifey, Meghan

My children: James (13), Miah (4), Malia (3), and Justice (2)

OUR STORY

Opening up about Years of Struggling to Stay Afloat

For the last several years, we’ve barely managed to keep up with bills, rent, food, medical needs, and basic living.  Willing to do most any work when it’s been opened up to us.

To survive, we’ve had to rely heavily on my mother’s credit — not mine or anyone else's — and her credit is now fully maxed out. We’ve run out of financial options, and we are facing the reality that we may not be able to stay where we live or provide the stability our kids deserve.

Our Work Situation

Every adult in our household is willing and able to work:

I work whenever my health allows me. I suffered a fall in Hawaii a few years ago that tore the meniscus in my right knee and caused serious damage that effects my day to day abilities. Because of this, I can only stand for 2–3 hours at a time before needing long breaks. I want to work and I do work when I can, but physically I cannot do most normal full-time jobs.

My mother, Athena, wants to work full time, but she suffers from frequent, debilitating migraines and recurring kidney stones. Most employers let her go because she has to call out when these flare up. Which is why Working our own businesses helps us to work around these health issues.

Adam is capable and healthy, but despite constant effort, he has struggled to find “steady” work in our area. He does work hard cleaning with Jam Company, though at present there are not enough clients ~ encountering slow seasons

My wife, Meghan, is a full-time college student, and she works around the clock taking care of our three littles while homeschooling our oldest son, James. Her workload at home is enormous, and she is doing everything she can to build a better future for our family.

We are all trying our best but the work we’ve found doesn’t pay enough to keep up with cost of living, and the physical limitations in our household make “just go get a job” much more complicated than it sounds.

OUR DREAMS & THE DOORS THAT KEEP OPENING

We recently moved to California to be closer to family and become involved in ministry. We truly wanted to make this our home long-term.

But the reality is that we have steady work waiting for us in Hawaii on the Big Island. Work that could support us. But uprooting our entire family again is painful, expensive, and feels like a last resort tbh.

At the same time, we believe God may be trying to lead us here in California… but without help, we cannot stay.

We simply cannot make it financially long enough to get established.

THE BUSINESSES WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO BUILD

We are NOT looking for a handout — we are looking for a chance, to avoid needing help again …  wisdom

Our family has several businesses and ideas that we fully believe could support us if we could just get over this immediate financial crisis:

1. Garcia’s Golden Kitchen

My catering, meal prep, meal planning, and cooking class service. I specialize in healthy, family-style meals and want to build something that serves the community.

2. Big Happy Deliveries

My delivery and courier service for groceries, prescriptions, and errands — especially focused on helping the elderly and those who can’t transport themselves.

3. JAM Cleaning (Jeremiah–Adam–Mom)

My mother and Adam’s cleaning business that I help with. They work hard, but business in our area has been slow, inconsistent, and not enough to pay bills.

We’re not lacking ideas, passion, or willingness to work.

What we’re lacking is the financial breathing room to keep going until one of these businesses can take off.

i had two interviews this week, even working two jobs as body allows it’s not enough, we are all still looking for more work even now..

WHY WE ARE ASKING FOR HELP
We have:

✔ A hardworking family

✔ Small children we are trying to protect & provide for

✔ A strong desire to stay independent

✔ Business ideas ready to grow

✔ A willingness to follow wherever God leads us

✔ A commitment to work as much as our bodies allow

But at this moment, we are facing:

Maxed-out credit

Not enough income to cover basic expenses

Ongoing health limitations (major issues)

Work opportunities too far away or physically impossible

Immediate financial pressure that could force us to move again

We are simply asking for your help to stabilize our family, pay off immediate emergency expenses, breathe for a moment, and stay in California long enough to become self-sustaining.

WHAT FUNDS WILL BE USED FOR

Your donations will help us cover:

First Rent and utilities

To keep us out of winter safe and warm

Food and basic living essentials for our children

Gas and transportation (school Dr appts)

Emergency bills

Supplies needed to launch and grow our small family businesses

Temporary cushion while we secure more consistent work

Every dollar helps us stay together, stay grounded, and keep moving toward independence.

CLOSING WORDS FROM OUR FAMILY

This Give A Hand is not easy for us to create. We are humble people, and we have always tried to carry our own load. But right now, we’re simply overwhelmed, and we believe that sometimes God uses others to lift you when you cannot lift yourself.

If you are able to give, even a small amount, it makes a massive difference.

If your unable to give monetarily please share our story with few close friends or family privately, that are able to help & Please pray for us.

Please stand with us as we fight to stay afloat and get our lives back.
