I am Candice Rogers, a resilient 69-year old disabled woman who receives Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, while my partner receives Social Security Benefits. We also receive a monthly stipend of $98 in food stamps. My partner and I have been navigating a prolonged Chapter 13 bankruptcy with determination. We recently received a letter informing us of a court hearing scheduled for late February to consider the dismissal of the bankruptcy. We are seeking guidance on how to approach this situation with confidence. As a cancer patient, I remain focused on my regular chemotherapy injections and appointments with a specialist in Neptune, NJ. Furthermore, our gas furnace has broken down, and we are exploring affordable options to repair it, currently relying on portable electric heaters for warmth. I am determined to stay positive and avoid foreclosure, which would be an unnecessary challenge. I am already taking proactive steps to manage my emotional distress. Can anyone support to seniors in our situation, helping us to overcome this hurdle and emerge stronger?
